Kansas Day at school

Last Friday we celebrated the 150th birthday of Kansas at school. We had some good grub, sang campfire songs, danced to some dittys and got all dressed up in our cowpoke gear for the event.

Woops... (insert scratch record sound here) except for that last part. Despite several searches in our closet, we couldn't find any cowpoke gear. They had to have race cars back in the olden days, didn't they?! Anyways, I sported my new Hot Wheels shirt that I got for my birthday, but added some cowpoke flair by wearing the bandana I made at school. Just call me the race car cowboy! Who needs horses when you have race cars? Seriously.

Dancing a ditty with some of my friends.
Now, here's where I impress the ladies with all the right moves.

Time for some grub.

Why can't everyday be pajama day?

I hadn't gotten around to posting this yet, but a few weeks ago we had pajama day at school. How cool is that?! We were allowed to bring one night time friend. Of course, everyone from my nighttime entourage wanted to be a part of the special day. Doggy, Jealous, Kindergarten, Tolee, Bruno, Woobie, Pillow, Mingo (Yes, these are all names of my entourage that join me at night time. I decided to take my dog pillow pet, named JuJu. He was on his best behavior the entire class. We watched bedtime movies, read bedtime stories, jumped on the bed like a bunch of monkeys and had some wonderful snacks. It was a blast and just another reason why I love my school!

Monkeys jumping on the bed.

Watching bedtime movies. Good Night Moon is a classic.
Hanging with my friends watching movies.

I'm not in this picture, but this is a picture of my other very awesome teacher, Mrs. Kelly.

Jayhawk Day!

This week at school we're learning all about Kansas in preparation for a Kansas' birthday party on Friday. For those of you that didn't know, Kansas will turn 150 years old on Saturday. Not quite as cool as turning 4, but it definitely earns a nod. Monday we learned about Sunflowers, and today we are learning about Jayhawks. The whole day is themed around Jayhawks. It also just so happened to be my day to bring treats to share with my classmates in honor of my birthday. Woo Hoo! What a great combo! It was also my turn to take in something for show and tell. I decided to take the remote control toy that I got from my Aunt Julie, Uncle Stan and cousins Brad and Courtney to class to show all of my friends. It's been a great week filled with lots and lots of fun.

These are the cupcakes I took to school to share with my friends on Jayhawk day.

Hmmmm...should I just hibernate in the car for an extra 10 minutes while stuffing my little cheeks with as many Jayhawk cupcakes as I can? Decisions. Decisions.
Of course that's not what I decided to do. Mom and I headed on into school and took in the cupcakes and spent some extra time in the classroom before everyone got in there. So that nobody would forget that it was my special day I got to wear a birthday necklace. I was kinda a big deal today at school.
Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Huffman have a present drawer that everyone gets to pick a present out of on their birthday. So, I took some time digging through the fun and picked out a toy guitar. Thanks Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Huffman! The birthday fun continues on for this 4 year old, at least for today.

Happy 4th Birthday Manning!

I'm 4 today!!! Woooo Hoooo! What did you say? You want to see that again?
Feeling great to be 4! Dad makes a great launch pad.

I had a great day. Pictures still to come from the day's activities. I started my day off with presents, a wonderful day with my dad and sister, then finished off the evening with a family birthday party where we celebrated my cousins' Mackinzie and Tyller's January birthdays also. Thank you to everyone for all of the wonderful birthday wishes, cards and presents.

Busy January

We've been on the go ever since we've flipped the calendar to January.

We've been busy celebrating KU basketball victories. 69 in a row is nothing to be ashamed.

We spent some time crying over KU's loss to Texas today.

We've been busy beating the winter blues by cuddling and just spending time with those we love.

Dad & went to the races in Oklahoma. It was my first experience, of many to come, at the Tulsa Shootout.

When I've not been in preschool I've been busy playing football in the snow.

Between going to preschool, going to work, time for fun, playing in the snow, fun at the races, mom starting back to KU for yet another semester, celebrating Mom's birthday, celebrating Grammee Linda's birthday, celebrating the new year, keeping up Reesing's daily developments, housework....we're exhausted.

Big shoes to fill

Reesing loves loves loves shoes. If you're not watching she'll steal your shoes before you even know it and run off to a secret place while attempting try them on. Take this girl down a shoe aisle, and it's guaranteed that you're staying for awhile. She loves shoes of all sizes. Her favorite shoes to steal are my Jordans.

Here Aunt Raegann is helping the accused rob my shoes for 1000th time.
Aunt Raegann has now become an accomplice. These two seem pretty proud of themselves and a job well done.

Snow Day!

School was canceled on Monday due to snow and it continued to snow all day. We had about 6 or 7 inches fall. I was able to go outside and play in the snow a few couple different times. Once with dad and once with mom when she got off of work. It was cold, but so much fun.

30 minutes seems to be the time requirement to properly dress and prepare for fun in the snow.

And guess what this boy decided to do in the snow? Race, of course! Making tracks.

Winning the race.

My dad and I made an awesome snow racetrack to drive around.

Can Reesing come out and play in the snow?

Not yet. She's still too little to really enjoy it, but she spent the whole time watching out the window. She watched every move I made and took lots of notes. So, she'll be well prepared for next winter.

Reesing wasn't happy to not be able to go out and play in the snow, but she stayed nice and warm.

Can you guess...

what's under my hand?

It's my iPhone. To you, it might look just like an old beaten up ancient cell phone, but I assure you that it is not. It is my very own iPhone.
My mom has an iPhone. My dad had an iPhone, that was until last Sunday when Reesing decided to give it a bath in Dr. Pepper. I'm sure Dad will have an iPhone again sometime soon. Not wanting to be left out of the fun, I found my own iPhone.
I am sure to keep it charged and ready for whenever I need to TCB!

What? Chiefs lost???

What did you say? I can't hear you.

Maybe it's because I have these headphones on and am still in denial that the Chief's season is over. Good run at it Chiefs. We'll see you next year.

What did you say? The Jayhawks won today?

Woo Hoo! We knew you could do it Hawks. Nice win over Michigan.

Mechanic Manning

Driver or mechanic? Well, you can't drive a race car if the car doesn't run well. So, every good race car driver must have a good mechanic on their side. I plan on being a really good race car driver AND a really good mechanic.

Working on my ride.

Gotta get underneath it to fix what's broken.

Then my mom and I came up with a brilliant idea, a lift. Just like the one that my Uncle Willie uses to work on cars.

Much better.
