Locks of Love

My mom, Aunt Julie and cousin Courtney have been growing their hair out really long in hopes to make a donation to Locks of Love. Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. It is a great organization and if you would like to learn more about it you can check it out at http://www.locksoflove.org/. So, a couple of weeks ago they went to Z's Cosmotology school, where my cousin Taylor works. All 3 of them had a lot cut off. My aunt and cousin were both able to donate 10 inches, the minimum length required. It was a great thing that they did and I was really proud of them. I was a little disappointed that my mom no longer has a long ponytail that I can grab ahold of...bummer. Anyways, they all look great with their new do's and Taylor did an excellent job on cutting my mom's hair. So, kudos to Tay and the others for doing what they can to help support a good cause.

Miss You Dad

My dad is out of town on a trip and has left me behind in the good care of mom! We'll miss you dad, but we'll be sure to keep busy and has some fun so we don't miss you too much. Be safe and have some fun while you're away. I'll be so excited to see you. Love you dad!

A great picture of my dad and I watching fireworks together on July 4th.

Happy Birthday Uncle Mike and Uncle Willie!

(Uncle Mike on the left and Uncle Willie on the right.)
Sorry for the delay in getting this birthday "shout out" up on the blog. My Uncle Mike had a birthday last Thursday and my Uncle Willie had a birthday the following day. They are 364 days apart. We celebrated with them last week with dinner at Henry T's. Happy Birthday to the both of you. Love you both!

Tough lil' guy

Ok, so I've already had several chances to show off my tough spirit.

One Sunday morning I woke up with a swollen shut eye that I fought off and was a brave lil' guy. Even though it was really annoying, I toughed it out for a few days until it went away. Mom and Dad think it was a bug bite that I acquired from all the time I spend outside.

Now, in the picture below you can see the cut on my cheek. It has been too tempting b/c Daddy has a big pile of lumber in the backyard and I cannot stay away from it, no matter how hard I try. It is so much fun to climb up on and jump off of. Well, in one of my adventures I completely wiped out and left my left cheek scratched up and a good size bruise on my back. I toughed it out though and nothing has kept me from still playing on the stack. I insist on being in the middle of everything that dad is working on. I even helped my mom carry pickets off the trailer. The bumps and bruises are worth the fun. I do think that I'll continue to put many gray hairs in my mommy's and daddy's head though!

4th of July

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. A well-deserved salute to our troops who fight to protect our American freedoms each and everyday. We thank you.
Gotta love the smoke bombs!!!

My first experience with the all-time famous snappers. I really enjoyed those, well at least those that I didn't try to eat!

Watching the fireworks show. It must've been a good one.
Our crazy-obsessed dog, Duce, who looks forward to the 4th of July more than everyone. He loves chasing/eating the fireworks. It usually takes him a few days to recover.
Aunt Stacey and I just chillin'.
My cousin Reyna showing off her sparkler techniques.

Well, as usual, we've been very busy. My dad is in the middle of building a fence for our backyard. I'm,again, the supervisor of the project. It's going to be a really big fence and will make a really nice play area for me. I'm really excited to have it done. I expect that my dad will have it finished sometime this week.

My dad has had some additional help from my friend Preston's dad. So, a big thank you to Jason, Kathy and Preston for all of their help.

The lost is found!

We've been extremely busy, so I apologize for the lack of posts. I've been really busy growing and my mom and dad have been busy doing whatever it is that moms and dads do. We're back up and running and apologize for the delay. It will probably take several posts to get caught up on everything.

Last weekend my mom and dad had a huge garage sale. It was a lot of work, and once again I assumed the supervisor position. We got rid of a lot of stuff, so it was a success. The older I get, the more stuff comes into the house, so we used this as an opportunity to thin things out.

My mom and I have spent a couple different weekends cleaning out my Grandma Sharon's house. With that comes some one-on-one time with my Grandpa Don, Aunt Julie and cousin Courtney. I also made a trip to see my great-grandma Shirley.
Me giving Grandma Shirley some kisses.
