Scary monster warning

There's a scary monster in the house. Watch out!

Surprise! It's just me. Nothing to be afraid, well at least most of the time.

Countdown to Turkey Day!

Thanksgiving is a mere 30 minutes or so away. We cannot wait. The pies are made. The house is quiet and the Urish family is gearing up for a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday filled with lots of fun, family & food! Our family wishes you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving. Count your blessings every day! We have a lot to be thankful for this year and we do not plan on taking anything for granted. Below are some other things we are thankful for.

Cookies and cousins who share them.

Siblings & all the trouble we get into together.

Little boys who can let their imagination run wild and be whatever they want to be.

Precious little girls with crazy bed-head hair.

Smiles on cute little faces.

Family
Good report cards.

And Uncle Nick...just to name a few.

Fall Art Show

If there is one thing that I get a lot of practice in at while at preschool, it is art. We have art class everyday, which results in a lot of fabulous artwork.

This is a fall picture we made using a really fun technique where we painted a bunch of different shaped objects, such as pine cones, and then rolled them around on a piece of orange paper placed in the bottom of a box. The result is this wonderful fall painting. It was lots of fun.
This is the Thanksgiving turkey I made with my painted hand. Pretty cool, huh?

Ok, this next one is funny, well not funny for everyone. We made cornucopias full of all the things we are thankful for. I added a picture of my sister Reesing and myself. I'm very thankful for my little sister.

I am thankful for my dog Duce.
I am extra thankful for my dad and the strong friendship that we have with each other.

I even had room for my Jayhawks and football. Knocked two items off the list with this picture, KU and football. Yes!
Ok, so this is the finished result. In addition to everything I have already mentioned, I made room for cars, cheeseburgers and salad. Beautiful, don't you think? Well, my mom wasn't so happy that she was left off the cornucopia and got her feelings hurt that she didn't make the cut, especially over cheeseburgers and salad which aren't even some of my favorite things to eat.

So, while my mom and I were discussing this, my dad put a plan into action to fix the problem. I love my mom and wanted to include her, but just forgot to. Dad went inside the house, found a Hallmark mailer, flipped through the catalog, tore out a picture of a wood person holding a heart, ripped off a piece of painters tape and added it to the cornucopia. Now it's complete. I know you feel the love mom. Below is the revised version.

Fall leaf.
And indian corn.

I also brought home a tee pee and was sure to tell my mom, dad and sister about how the indians used to live in tee pees back in the olden days. Well, my baby sister thought that sounded like a good idea and tried to actually crawl inside the miniature tee pee. She did not exactly fit. She won. The tee pee lost and had to be thrown in the trash before we could get a picture of it.

And a drum just like the ones that the pilgrims used.

During this month we learned a lot about America and what it means to be an American. We made an American wind sock to adorn our home. Dad helped me hang it up.

It was the perfect decoration for our home.

Ku game

To focus on the positive, since KU football has not looked so good lately...Mom, Reesing and I went to the KU vs. Colorado game a few weeks ago. We took the KU shuttle bus and had a great time on the bus ride and at the game.

On the bus. Ready to head to Memorial stadium.

This is the bus we got to ride on.

Reesing made some new friends.

It was excellent weather and was very sunny, so I stole Mom's shades.

Rees loves her popcorn.

She didn't want to waste one single piece.

She had a whole bag to herself. Well, it started out as a family bag, but then she took it over.

The ride home was just as much fun. Reesing really enjoyed it.

In our game of "I spy" Reesing thought I was cheating, but I swear I wasn't. The bus was just going to fast to catch everything. Below she is letting me have it.

Haircut

Dad cut my hair recently and added a little flair.

I kinda like it and I get a lot of compliments on it. That's how I roll.

Happy Monday!

Last week was a terrible week for my mom at work. We've been trying to cheer her up by focusing on the positive. We're pushing last week aside and starting this week off the right way...fun and happy posts on this blog all week long.

So, what is your favorite color of M&M?

Reesing's favorite is blue!

Was it that hard to tell?!

Better late than never

This post is a follow-up from Halloween.

Reesing was dressed up as the devil for Halloween.
Red stockings, tutu, shirt, tail and horns made the perfect outfit for Reesing.
She played the role very well by messing up the t.v. with every remote she could find and...

by rummaging through every single one of Grammee Linda's cabinets. Grammee Linda hung up the spider web I made for her. It was the perfect Halloween decoration.
Picture opp with Madison and Mackinzie

Jack turned out really well.
Reesing got to catch a ride for the trick or treating.
Frankenstein (cousin Colton) and Jeff Gordon.
Let the trick or treating begin!
Who would believe that all you have to do is knock on someone's door, say trick or treat and then they give you candy?! Best holiday ever.

Sugar high!!!
