A big week

This is a big week for the Urish family. If mom can keep it all straight and still be sane by the end of the week, she says she's going to thank her lucky stars. Today was my first day of preschool.

I'm in the Friendship Forest room and I have two awesome teachers, Mrs. Kelly and Mrs. Huffman. They are super special people. I got to visit my classroom, meet my teachers and mingle with some of my classmates. I'm so excited to go back on Wednesday!
Here's my apple.

My first day was extra special because my mom was able to join me. Wednesday I go in with only my new friends.
My favorite stop of the day was the play doh table.

Me so funny!!!!
My second favorite spot was the workbench. Lucky for them my dad has taught me so many carpentry tricks. I will be able to show off all of my mad skills.

I was very excited about the first homework assignment...decorating my book bag.

When mom got home from work she set me up with paints, markers and scissors and I made the most beautiful bag.

Pictures of the final project to come in future posts. I think my teachers are going to be very proud of me.

T-bones fun

One night in July Grandpa Rod and Tracy hosted a birthday party in celebration of the numerous July birthdays in the Urish family. It was a night of fun, food and baseball. Thanks Grandpa Rod and Tracy for inviting us to the birthday celebration.

We got a visit from Sizzler.

The night was not complete without sno cones, which all the kiddos enjoyed.

And we were right next to a big grassy hill where we could all run and play during the game.

Did I mention it was July and it was hot, as the picture of Colton can attest to.

And of course, there was some baseball to enjoy.

Reesing sporting the T-bones hat dad won.

Then there was a rec area where they had a big jumpy thing that was a lot of fun.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can.

Starting my approach.

Getting some big air!

Reyna getting some air.

Calvin get some big hops.
They also had a great jungle gym with a slide.

It was a great time and it left Reesing all smiles.

Number 5...Quarterback for the Kansas Jayhawks...TODD REESING

Well, we finally caught up to Mr. Reesing today in Lawrence, at Crown Chevrolet, where he was signing copies of his newly published book, "Rising to New Heights." We bought some copies of the book, spent some time talking with Todd and then took advantage of the good photo opp. It was great meeting the Mr. Todd Reesing. He was really nice and he was overjoyed to finally meet "The Reesing," as he put it. He'd read the newspaper article on our family http://www2.kusports.com/news/2009/oct/05/ku-couple-create-unique-legacy-project/ done shortly after Reesing was born, and had told us that he'd been waiting a long time to meeting "the Reesing" and said, "it just wouldn't be right if we would've never met."

Mr. Reesing and Miss. Reesing

Then I jump in on the picture fun & Reesing just now realizes who is holding her.
Ahhhhhhhhh... freak out!

Reesing and Todd discuss the book and Todd tells her which chapters are the best and suggests that they should get together and grab some juice and discuss it once she's finished it.,
Reesing then decides to give me a poke and rubs it in by saying, "Did you just hear that?"

We had a fair time

When you see these things roll into town, you can usually guess what's coming.

Mom, Reesing and I went to the local Douglas County Fair a few weeks ago and had a great time. Here are a few highlights.

We checked out all of the animals at the fair, including the petting zoo where this ostrich was hanging out.
This animal was very interested in Reesing and kept trying to get close to her. She thought he was going to eat her, so she freaked out screaming and we made a quick get away.

Ready for the rides. Height requirement...check.

Taking turns and waiting in line with tickets in hand...check.

And while I rode all the rides, my sister did a lot of this.

More rides
While I continued to ride more rides my sister did some of this...corndogs!

More rides

And my sister did more of this...Snocones!

By the end of the night I was owning the fair rides and was gonna let everyone know it!
#1, #1, #1!
