Reesing the transition turtle

Reesing got to visit her preschool classroom today, and she had a blast. She is going a couple days a week to Discovery Days preschool and will be in the transitional 2 year old class. It's a transitional class that catches all of the kiddos that don't make the age cut-off for regular preschool classes.  Therefore, Reesing and her classmates will be known as the "transitional turtles."  Today was a great start to the class.  Mom and Reesing met the teachers, played in the classroom and made some new friends.  We can't wait to get the party started with all of the other transitional turtles. This year should be filled with lots of stories from Reesing's preschool experience, so stay tuned!

A great finish to a great summer - Part 1

We were blessed to be able to join the Urish side of the family in Keystone Colorado to help celebrate the wedding of two special people, Heather Urish and Bill Blair. We were lucky enough to score a ride with Grandpa Rod and Tracy and were thankful for the extra time we got to spend with them on the trip.  We were able to fit a lot in on the trip and had a blast taking it all in.

Started off the trip with some quality swim time in the pool & hot tub.

Reesing loves to swim.

And she does a great fish impression when swimming on dad's back.

We went to eat at a great mexican restaurant and they had a giant sandbox right outside on the patio. It is one of the best ideas ever.  Parents can sit on the patio and eat while the kids play in the sandbox. It's a win-win for everyone.

I discovered that I really like to play pool and spent a lot of time polishing up my game.

Reesing and Mom found a nice cold clear creek to play in. It was fun, but the water was COLD.

Reesing loves playing in the sand, and thankfully for her there were a lot of great sandboxes in Colorado and she was in HEAVEN.

A view of the gondola that Reesing got to ride on.

Going up and up and up.

We finally made it up to the top and spent some time taking in the beautiful view.

If we ever come up here and go skiing we learned that this is NOT the hill for us!

This is probably more our speed.

Beautiful scenery.  It looks like something on a postcard and it's just surreal to be on the top of the mountain soaking it all in.

Little girl digging loading her pockets.  With what?  We'll soon find out.

 Reesing and her buddy Tracy.

Whenever you saw Tracy, Reesing would not be too far behind.

Beautiful skies as it's raining on one side of the mountain.

It's time for Reesing to unload her pockets.

Rocks, rocks, rocks and more rocks. Not only did she load her own pockets full, but both of Mom's pockets were full.  We did bring all of the special mountain rocks home and she has treasured them every day since.

Reesing & Tracy counting the loot.

Preparing for our ride back down the hill.

And once we're back on ground, Reesing found her way right back to the sandbox.

Grandpa Rod and Reesing taming the big buffalo.

Tamed the buffalo enough to take a ride.

Reesing found a big furry friend.

Reesing and her buddy enjoying ice cream after all that fun on the mountain.

A chocolate covered face is the best evidence of a delicious ice cream cone.
More updates from the Colorado trip to come....stay tuned.
