Rock Chalk full of fun

Back in May Mom took all of us kids to the KU baseball Fun Day held at Hoglund Ballpark. There was a lot to do and it was a good time. Beautiful weather to enjoy being a Jayhawk. We love that there is always so much free stuff to do in Lawrence. There's always something to keep us busy.

Getting it just right.

Then the police double checked the work of the softball team,

Blue Egg Pony & bunnies

It has been a very busy spring so far at the Urish hotel. We had a robin, which we named Blue Egg Pony ( Mans wanted to call her Blue Egg and Rees voted for Pony), built a nest right next to our back door.  Not sure what that momma bird was thinking, but it was fun watching the whole process. When we would go out there she would squawk and squawk at us but got more comfortable over time, but would still do a fly-by and try to poop on your head if you got too close to the best. It's definitely made for an interesting learning experience for the kiddos.

One morning we looked out and saw this.

Two hours later we saw this.

Then along came 3 eggs.

Then they hatched.

Then they died. I know, I know, a very sad ending to the story.

Then this past few weeks came a nest of baby bunnies in the middle of our yard. We started out with 7 and are down to only 2 or 3, Humpy and Wiggly. We've had fun watching these bunnies grow, but have also been sad with each one that has died. Yet, another life lesson.

Bunnies, birds...not sure what's next, but we'll be sure to update you on our next animal adventure.

Happy Father's Day!

Wishing all of the Dads a very special day of love, appreciation and recognition for the role they play in each family.  We give an especially loud shout out to our #1 dad. He does a great job keeping the wheels moving within the house and family itself. We thank you for all that you do for us, as you are always putting us and our needs before yourself. We love you. Thank you for being a very supportive and encouraging dad! We love you lots!

Sandbox fun

Dad made us a sandbox in the back yard & we love it! We do enjoy playing in it, but especially when it rains enough to make some sand castles.  Thanks Dad!

Why do they call it kindergarten?

Reesing was hanging out at mom's work with her the other day and the below conversation took place between the two...

Reesing: Mom?
Mom: Yes Reesing?
Reesing: Do you know why they call it kindergarten?
Mom: No, actually I don't.
Reesing: Well, to my knowledge there are no flowers? There is no garden? It doesn't 'to make sense ?
Mom: What are you talking about?   Oh...yes, "kinder-garden." I can see how that is so confusing. You are very smart Reesing.
Reesing: I know .

Happy haircut Friday

Dad took the girls to get haircuts today. Looking good! Thanks Tay! You did a great job! This is KU's newest trick....introducing her "cheese" face whenever asked to take a picture and say cheese

More "cheese" while getting Tad's Tropical Ice.

Bluejays baseball player of the game

Baseball season is underway and I really enjoy playing this year. I've been playing mainly 2nd base & have moved up to #2 in the batting error because I get a hit every time and help move people around the bases.  At our May 19th game I was awarded the game ball for my solid performance.

All those pickup baseball games in the yard on the side of the house is really paying off. Dad's been assisting out team this season and it's been fun practicing and playing with him. Thanks for all your coaching help Dad!
