A very Rock Chalk day

Grammee Linda scored tickets for us to enjoy the KU women's basketball match-up against Missouri. The game got started with a personal visit from Jay.  He walked right up the stairs, gave all the kids a high-five then sat right down in our row and let me, my sister and my cousins gather around for a picture opportunity.  Then after taking a picture with all of us he left the stands and went to sit on the basketball court.  It was like a personal visit from Jay.

Great pic, but we're missing someone...

There he is.  Calvin joined in on the fun.

Reesing and Annabell were very excited about the big bag of popcorn. They even turned their backs on the game to completely focus on consuming the entire giant bag of popcorn.

Then we were treated to a special gymnastics performance at halftime, which was a special treat for my cousins Reyna and Tyller, as they LOVE gymnastics.   How do those girls stand on their hands for so long???

Then the girls went flying through the air.  It was amazing and even the two fanatic popcorn chompers stopped to watch the performance.

U
Unfortunately, as you can see on the scoreboard, it was not the outcome that us Jayhawk fans were hoping for.   This is also a crucial time in the game when.....

T
This lil' Jayhawk crashed out. Yes, she falls asleep with 37 seconds on the clock.

My cousin, Calvin, enjoying the Jayhawk game, even though he does live in Wildcat country.

A good time was had by all, even the sleep one.    Now this evening we're watching our men's Jayhawk basketball team whoop up on Texas Tech. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!  Thanks Grammee Linda for the special day!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Whew what a fun day! It started off with a morning of valentines from Dad and Mom.

Reesing & I's Valentine to Dad. We love you Dad!

Every day is the most awesome when you start out with a push pop first thing in the morning, especially Valentine's Day!

Last week I had made a special Valentines Day necklace and mom wore it to work today to show off to all her friends at work. Then I headed to school for more fun.

Our teachers hosted a "Very Veggie Valentine" party for our class and I shared Valentines with all of my classmates. After school I came home and inspected my loot and shared some of my goods with Reesing.

The loot.

Just look at some of the creativity from my classmates!

Had a great day with Dad and Reesing. Then, to finish the day, after dinner Mom, Reesing and I picked up our special valentine, Grammee Linda, for a special treat...froyo at Orange Leaf~ yay! Froyo with Grammee was the perfect ending to a great day.

Valentine's Day art project.

It really does look like a heart.  Pretty cool, huh?

My awesome Valentine Day homework.

Yummy cookies Mom brought home from work for us.

We hope that everyone had a very special Valentines day filled with lots of time spent with loved ones!

A+ student

It was my day to bring treats, and I brought applesauce to share with my class.

Here is a story that I authored, mom wrote, in my journal at school about a cat named Cookie and what he did each day of the week.

One of our two class pets...I can never remember this girl hamster's name.  When we figure it out we'll be sure to post it.

The picture of me that hangs up in the classroom below a title of "Snowbody's the Same!"

And the birthday rollcall for January.

Me Boss!

For over a month now Reesing has been yelling "meatball" all the time. She says it when she's mad, sad & glad, and with every battle cry she uses a lot of enthusiasm. Well, it took us awhile, but we've determined that she's not saying meatballs at all. She is saying "me boss"...go figure. She is 2 going on 15 & she honestly does think that she is the boss. Right now it's her favorite phrase & says it no less than 100 times a day. I really hope my racing career works out because when we both grow up & she becomes the boss at the job of her choosing I definitely have no desire for her to be my boss.

You're the Best

I got an iPod for Christmas & some Beats for my birthday. Below are the lyrics to my favorite song on the playlist & you'll often hear me jamming out to it. Who can tell me what movie this is from????

Try to be best
‘Cause you’re only a man
And a man’s gotta learn to take it

Try to believe
Though the going gets rough
That you gotta hang tough to make it

History repeats itself
Try and you’ll succeed

Never doubt that you’re the one
And you can have your dreams!

You’re the best!
Around!
Nothing’s gonna ever keep you down
You’re the Best!
Around!
Nothing’s gonna ever keep you down
You’re the Best!
Around!
Nothing’s gonna ever keep you dow-ow-ow-ow-own
