Goodbye May...Hello June

First things first, today is my Aunt Julie's birthday & I want to wish her a very happy birthday!

Secondly, May was a very busy month for the Urish household, baby announcement, lots of doctor's appt. for Mom & baby, completion of preschool for me & Mom graduated from KU! It's been a long hard journey for Mom to finish her degree, but she stuck with it & walked down the hill at KU this past Mother's Day! Reesing & I, along with Aunt Julie & Courtney, were able to watch Mom walk across the stage with her Communications graduating class the Friday before and then she walked down the hill two days later with about 4,900 other graduating students. My Grandma Sharon would've been so proud, but we know she was smiling down from above that special Mother's Day. Grandma Sharon always told Mom that it would be a big party when she finally graduated. Needless to say, Mom has declared it one of the best Mother's Day ever! Mom says that she couldn't have done it without the love & support from Dad, Reesing & myself, so it can be considered a team effort, of course. Congrats Mom, we're so proud of you!

The walk through the campanile...it felt so good!

Manning takes 2nd!

Thanks to our family friend, Steve Berger, who shot this video of Manning's last feature race and posted it to YouTube because we're now able to share it with all of you who have not yet had a chance to watch Manning race.  He had a really good race and held onto a 2nd place finish.

Congrats Manning, great race!  You continue to get better and better every race and Mom and Dad are so proud of you!

School's out for summer!

Ok, here it comes...(sniff, sniff, sniff) stop sniffling mom, my last day of preschool was today and I'll be headed to kindergarten next year!  Woo Hoo!  Actually our last day of classes was yesterday and today we had a field day. It was a little windy, but a really great time.

My teachers this year.  Mrs. Haffenstine and Mrs. Struble.
Our really great art teachers gave us some body/face paint

I picked out a football.

Reesing picked out a kitty cat.

Miles and I had fun washing the windows, doors and building with soap and water using paint brushes and sponges.

Miles working hard and doing a good cleaning job.

Miles, myself and Ryan cleaning the doors.

Reesing washing the windows with the signature Daddy Urish move...tongue hanging out while we go to work.  Reesing, Dad and I can all be caught hanging our tongue out anytime we're concentrating.

And how can you give boys buckets of water and not expect them to get a little wet?!

Having fun with my friend Andrei.

Miles, myself and some other boys hanging out in the boys clubhouse. Fun times, somehow I'm the only one who came out of it with a bloody nose.

Reesing enjoyed getting to play in the water table.

Reesing had fun going down the big slide.

And playing on the playground.

Some of my classmates and I.
Also in celebration of completing our final year of preschool, one of my classmates held a graduation picnic after school one day.   We got together and ate hamburgers and hot dogs and played in her backyard on her really cool jungle fort.  It was a great way to celebrate the end of the preschool year.  Another milestone reached.  Kindergarten here we come!

My classmates posing for a picture.

My turn at the 'ol pinata.

And it finally broke.  Look at all the goodies.

Sunday...race fun day

So, we headed out to the TKQMA racetrack for another day of racing. We had a good day, despite a bad bug bite & no checkered flags like last week, but I tried hard and finished 2nd, I had a good time with my friends/cousins & way down at the bottom of the stinky & dirty creek I found a $20 bill. Not a bad day.

Posing with the gold around my neck and the cold hard cash in my hand!

Reesing loves spending time with her Uncle Nick doing just about anything.

The signs of a great beginning to summer

Our first stop of the summer at Tad's Tropical Sno

Being outdoors all summer long and enjoying the sights and sounds.

A trip up to KU campus and hopefully a swim this summer in the Chi Omega fountain.

Playing with our cousins and friends.

Lots of racing to come...and hopefully some more checkered flags!

More time to spend with those we love.

Dirt, sweat, bugs, water and good times is what this little girl is all about.

How time flies when you're having fun

Wow, can't believe it's been a week since our last blog post. That's unacceptable. We have had lots of exciting things going on lately in the Urish household (many posts to come). This spring has been very busy. So, we'll do our best to get caught up. For this Friday we're posting some pictures that never posted from Dad's birthday in April.

Birthday cookie cake for Dad, since chocolate chip cookie is his favorite.

Dad's favorite Nascar racer is Jeff Gordon, so Reesing and I thought that this cookie would be appropriate.

She loves the glow of birthday candles.

The 3 Amigos!

They have so much fun together. Happy Friday everyone!

Mom's day at school

Recently my Mom came to school, along with everyone else's moms, to visit for the last 45 minutes of class for Mom's Day at school. We read through my journal together, played some games, read some stories & then we ended the day with an art show displaying several of our masterpieces. We also had made a gift & card for our mothers. In addition to the gift I drew a picture of my mom & got to list some things that I know about her. It was a fun day and Mom enjoyed coming to class and spending some extra time with me.
