Up up & away!

This past Sunday Grandpa Rod took me on a very special plane ride. Joining me & Grandpa Rod in-flight were my cousins Mackinzie, Calvin & Reesing. It was so much fun & Grandpa even pulled some tricks out his sleeve and gave us a little bump during the ride. It was a beautiful day for the flight. I had been wanting to fly in Grandpa Rod's airplane for a long time now, so it really did mean a lot to me. Thanks Grandpa Rod!

Birthday Fun!

Good day at school. Everyone loved the Strawberry muffins. I got to blow out a birthday candle with my classmates & they made me a special birthday book where they all colored a page & wrote a special message to me. In the meantime, Mom & Dad have been working on all kind of special surprises for me. We'll update the blog as the news happens. Stay tuned for more birthday fun!

Happy 5th Birthday Manning!

Today is my birthday. I'm looking forward to a great day & lots of birthday love. Starting my day off by taking StrawBerry muffins to school to share with my friends. And, of course, they have a racing theme because that's how I roll!

Birthday-Palooza

January has been a busy month Of birthdays for the Urish family. We celebrated two of my cousins' birthdays, then my momma's last Wednesday, my Gammee Linda's birthday on Saturday & last but not least, my special day is in only a few days. Yippee!

Flowers that Reesing, Dad & I sent to Mom at work.  Mom said to not mind her messy desk.  It's busy season at the GCSAA.

What could it be that has captivated this little girl's attention....

And mine?

Holy crap Mom...you're so old that there are so many candles on the cake we have a small fire!

Well actually, it's not that bad.  Just a bad camera shot.  Here is the cake I made for mom. I put the candles in the cake in the shape of her birthday age.

And this is my special Gammee's birthday cake.  This is my Gammee in a nutshell, Mother, Gammee, Jayhawks and flip flops. Creative cake design was courtesy of my Aunt Raegann.   Happy Birthday Gammee!  Love you bunches.

Please faithful blog readers...

Don't ever let us brag about having a wonderful Friday the 13th EVER again! Not even 4 hours after our post on Friday the 13th, everything went down hill for one of the worst Saturday the 14th ever. Reesing woke up with the flu on Saturday morning at 2:30 a.m. and spent the rest of the 24 hours hanging her head in a bucket. Not funny at the time, but definitely something to laugh about now.  When Mom fetched Reesing from her bed at 2:30 in the morning and saved her from the puke polluted crib, Rees began to immediately get sick again. (Oh, and did I mention that Dad was out of town.)  Mom ran with Reesing to the guest bathroom, lifted the toilet lid and held Reesing over the toilet.  This is what is normal for everyone who has ever thrown up, but Mom and I were definitely reminded of the ruthless reality puking brings with it. To tell a two year old to put their face over the toilet and that everything's going to be ok, is just absurd through a two-year old's eyes.  When Mom was holding Reesing over the toilet, Reesing was looking at Mom like, "Woman, you are plain nuts!"  Even as sick as Reesing was she was still fighting the whole process because she thought we were punishing her, which anytime you have to stick your head in a toilet it is punishment, but a necessity for the Mom charged with cleaning up the mess. Thankfully this was just a 24 hour bug, and she's still little enough that her immune system was not as tough as everyone else.  She was back to normal by Sunday and up to her old tricks...bossing everyone around, whining about stuff and trying to tell everyone "no."

While she was down though we did enjoy a more peaceful side of Reesing.

I love playing on my iPhone app where it scans your thumbprint and reads your emotions.  This is the message I got Saturday.  Could it be that my dad left me at home and went to the races with out me?  Could it be that Dad is usually around to help take charge and now Mom is home alone and with Reesing sick all "heck" is breaking loose in this house?  Could it be that I was worried about my little sister with her head in the bucket all day?  Could it be that I missed out on what was tenatively planned as a Saturday filled with lots of fun, but was ruined by puke? Little did I know that I'd be flushing my beta fish, "Goldie" down the toilet later that day. That must've been it.

And the burial ceremony. We're going to just go ahead and put this past weekend behind us.

You are my sunshine

This is one of Reesing's favorite songs and today we dedicate it to our dear four-legged friend Blitz.
Sunshine...you are my sunshine.  You make me happy when skies are gray. You'll never know dear, how much I love you.  Please don't take my sunshine away......

He got very sick and is no longer with us, after today.  Reesing and I were very grateful to be able to see him & spend some time with him yesterday one last time. Blitz belongs to my Grandpa Rod and Tracy and was best friends with my dog, Duce. You'll be missed Blitz!

And lt the crowning begin...

Some little girls play with tiaras, crowns, pretty hats, etc, but not our Reesing. We recently crowned this little girl "Little Miss Racer," and the crown that she has chosen so proudly up wear...a cut up quarter midget tire. It 's s perfect fit!

Bath time shortcut...not really

Do u know what happens when Mom is trying to take a shortcut on bath time? Fun times & shaming cream art. The other night Mom thought she would save some time & water one night by throwing Reesing & I in the shower. Well, that backfired once we found a can of shaving cream. Then it became art time. Mom didn't really mind because this mess was easy to clean up! So, not only did we use moe water, take more time & used a whole can of shaving cream.

Tulsa Shoot Out @ Manning Speedway

Ever since Dad & I got home from the races I've been standing post at my own race track. I brought home three new race cars & have enjoyed introducing them to their new "home" track. I take my races very seriously. Note the police man, firefighter & ambulance on hand for the races, just in case. My track even has a very sophisticated flag stand with holders for each flag. Then on the bed we've got the pits and lineup of cars. And the grand stands are filled with fans. It's all very official at the Urish Speedway! Thanks for taking me dad. I had a great time & already looking forward to next year!

Happy New Year!

We hope that everyone had a safe and wonderful NYE holiday. Dad & I spent it in Tulsa at the shoot out & Mom
& Reesing rang in the New Year with Aunt Julie & family. The Urish family was saying goodbye 2011, and HELLO 2012 in two different states, but fun was had by all.

For the new year we've added two new family members, "Goldie," the beta fish, & "Nemo," the goldfish. These were courtesy of Aunt Stacey...thanks Aunt Stacey...we love our fish.

Well, here 's to another year filled with much love, health, happiness & many more great blog posts here on Team Manning. So, from our family to yours...We wish everyone a very blessed New Year!
