Reesing is almost 2!

Reesing, a.k.a. sissy, a.k.a. Rees, a.k.a. we-we, a.k.a. Monster will be turning 2 next month.  My, where did time go?!  She has really developed a lot in the past 6 months.  She packs a lot of attitude, but has also learned how to incorporate a lot of lot with her spitfire attitude.  She loves to give hugs and kisses, but no snuggling, unless it's with her dad, then she might give him a few minutes. She was actually the first one to come, grab me tight and give me a big bear hug the other day when I had injured myself.  She's definitely learning how to care for others.

She's my little shadow.  She copies EVERYTHING I do.  Everywhere I go, she is sure to follow.  She does love her big brother.  She has a lot of favorite words, such as daddy, mommy, Manning, Hawk (interpreted Jayhawk) &  Duce.  She's even mastered some small sentences, such as "no no Mommy." "I want (fill in the blank)" &  "I love you."  There is no doubt in our minds that she will get in trouble more than once while in school for talking too much.  She is a talker and she is in repeat mode right now, so she'll see a Jayhawk and repeat no less than 30 times, "hawk, hawk, hawk...daddy, hawk....mommy, hawk, hawk, hawk...daddy, hawk....mommy, hawk. She's going through what we would like to call the "Rain Man" stage. It's rather entertaining, and often times all we can do is laugh...or cry.

Reesing's favorite letter of the alphabet right now is the letter B.  Mom and I have been working on the alphabet, sight words and spelling in general.  Every time we're working with the flashcards and it's Reesing's turn Mom and I both can put our money on Reesing's answer.  It is B every time.  I could hold up any letter of the alphabet and she calls out "B" in an excited little voice, acknowledging to herself that she nailed it.

Reesing is our comedian.  She is a little spit-fire full of laughs and always creating some kind of commotion that will always create more laughs.  She has so much energy and spunk to her and it's going to be fun watching her grow up and into her personality.  Right now she's got a really big personality, but can really only communicate in her very own "Reesing speak."

Despite the dresses and pigtails she's often wearing, she's got a lot of drive and fight in her.  She's been known to push her way into whatever she wants.  She doesn't want to be left out of anything, and she wants to be heard, seen and noticed at all times, and does a good job at accomplishing it.

She's a brave little girl.  She really has no fear and is tough as nails. Things that would normally send any other toddler off crying and running to their mommy doesn't seem to phase Reesing, and if it does it's not for very long. She's quick to shake off an injury and keep right on going, making sure that she's not missing out on anything.  She's the kid that can walk on gravel and not even winch.  She's probably going to give all the boys a run for their money. She'll probably be the girl in the lunch cafeteria at school arm wrestling the boys and walking away with all their coins and candy!

Well Reesing, your 2nd birthday is a little less than 1 month away.  Can't wait to celebrate with you lil' Sis.  Love you!

Reesing still enjoys "Bats" at night only. What's bats you ask?  Well, Bats is what Reesing calls her pacifier.  So, when she's getting tired and wanting to lay down she'll frantically call out "Bats, bats, bats, I want bats."  Now most people outside of our family would probably wonder what the heck was going on when everyone starts looking around for the suspected bats yelling, "where's bats?  I don't know where bats is? Reesing, where was bats last?"  So, now you know.

Mans, you described our little "almost 2 year old" perfectly! What a great influence you have had on your little sister! She sure does love her big brother!
