Pebbles?

Everywhere we go we often hear "Awww....look...it's Pebbles!".

Little Reesing/WeWe/Pebbles, whatever name you shall end up with, we love you!

Yay for spring!

A few weeks ago, at the first hint of spring, dad got geared up to clean up the landscaping in our front yard. Reesing and I came to the rescue, because of course he needed help. Each year dad lets us each pick out a flower to plant in front of the house.

This is the flower that I picked out for my baby sister.

We consulted little Reesing on where she wanted to put her flower.

And after lots of contemplating, she decided on her special place.
So, Dad and I dug the hole.

Reesing handed over her prized flower.

And I helped dad plant the flower in the ground.

And here is Reesing's flower in it's new home.
Here's one of the flowers I picked out. It was a great day. Thanks for making this such a special time for sis and I dad!

A boy and his popcorn kernel

This little tiny kernel was quite the topic last Saturday at the Urish household.

Who knew that this tiny little popcorn kernel could cause such chaos.

How could this sweet little innocent boy cause so much chaos with one little popcorn kernel, you ask?
Well, let's just say that if you stuff a tiny little popcorn kernel up your nose, that creates chaos.  Not so much chaos for the popcorn seed nor the nose, nor the little boy, but can set a momma's mind into a whirlwind.  Long story short of this was after a fun morning with cousins at the movies, courtesy of Grandpa Rod, somehow a popcorn kernel made it's way up my nose and didn't want to come out.  So, the little popcorn seed traveled with me throughout the day on my many adventures, including the first of two birthday celebrations at the Lawrence Gymnastics Academy.  Dad had to talk mom off the ledge several different times saying, "if it's not bothering him, just leave it alone."  Well, mom would not rest until the popcorn kernel was out.  So, my mom had a flashlight stuffed up my nose most of last Saturday keeping a close eye on the kernel. As long as it didn't get sucked up into the sinus cavity it was probably ok.  Well, mom couldn't resist and put a call into the pediatrician doctor on call. That phone call sent mom over the edge telling her that if it did get sucked up into the sinus cavity that it would need to come out because it could sprout. Yes, that's right...I said the kernel could sprout. GROSS!  Dad continued to talk mom off the ledge and low and behold after laying down for a short nap the kernel must've grown bored with my nose and eventually came out. WHEW!  Once again we could all go back to regularly scheduled programming at the Urish household.  Crisis averted. So, until next time...remember to keep your popcorn in your mouth and not up your nose.

Happy Friday everyone!

Now...if we could just solve the mystery of how this marshmellow got stuck to my head?!

Three's a crowd?

Here's a photo of Reesing, mom and myself having a little fun with the camera on mom's phone.  The photos aren't the best, but you'll get the storyline anyways. Here we go.

Everyone having fun taking photos of ourselves.

 Being silly.

 More silliness.

Someone's not in favor of sharing camera time. Hmmm...I wonder who that could be?!

I'll give you one guess.

When we tell her that's not cool...she gets ticked.

Real ticked.

How'd mom & I feel about that?

And on the 563rd day mom gave us pig tails!

 And that's pretty cool.

Pudding in a cloud

Growing up my mom ate pudding in a cloud (a.k.a. pudding with cool whip on top) while staying at her Grandmother Shirley's house.  Now my mom surprises us every once in awhile with pudding in a cloud, and nobody complains.
Yum, yum!

Reesing's 18 month update

Reesing is now 18 months and we made a stop at Dr. Kelly's pediatrician office for a check-up.  All looked good and the good doc said "she's perfect & very vocal." Thumbs up for We-We.

18 month stats:

height - 31.5" - percentile - 42%
weight - 23 lbs. 1 oz. - percentile - 30%
head circumference - 19.25" percentile - 96%
I think we already knew that she had a big head, but the measurements confirm it.

Where are you spring?

Well, it's April 1st, and we've been really slacking on the blog posts.  Our apologies.  We've been really busy with a little of this and a lot of that.  So, what have we been up to?  We were cheering on the Hawks through yet another Big 12 championship and a good, but disappointing run in March Madness. We've been hanging out with family and friends every chance possible.  Reesing & I had a sleepover with Aunt Stacey and the girls. We've been waiting day by day for the slightest glimpse of spring weather that is going to stay for awhile. It's been 30 degrees and then a couple days later 70 degrees.  Very strange spring.  We've also been spending a lot of time hanging out at as family & playing lots of games, racing lots of cars and discovering new movies, such as E.T.   For me, I'm getting bigger, wiser and fully enjoying preschool. My mom went to parent teacher conferences with my teachers and they told her that I was a good student, and on target for pre-K and/or kindergarten.  Yay for me! Reesing is growing bigger, smarter and more stubborn.  Dad & mom are trying to break her like a wild horse. I went with Reesing and mom to the doctor earlier this morning for Reesing's 18 month appointment, official post to come.  All went well and the doctor says Reesing is growing and developing perfect.  Yay for Reesing! All is going well, but we're really ready for the sun to come out and stay!

We may have posted this picture already, but it is one of our family favorites.  The smiles on both of their faces are priceless, and this is what Reesing is always doing with dad...playing around on him like a jungle gym.  Reesing is not really scared of anything and always wants dad to throw her up in the air, juggle her, flip her, balance her, or whatever, she's game.

While the Jayhawks made it through the first weekend of tournament play, they eventually lost last weekend, which we'd prefer not to talk about.  Regardless of the loss, Ku basketball always goes hand in hand with yummy blue cupcakes!

The other day mom took me to my first eye exam.  I passed with flying colors and the good doc. said all looked well. Reesing tagged along with us, and needless to say it was one of the fastest appointments my mom said that she had ever had.  They seemed to shuffle us through rather quickly.  Coincidence?  I think not.

Below is a picture of Reesing posing in the big doc's chair.

See Reesing

See Reesing eat

See Reesing really eat.

See Reesing showing you how it's done.
