Viva Las Vegas!

At the end of February Mom and Dad left on a trip (work trip from Mom, vacation for Dad) to Las Vegas, NV.  They were both gone for 4 days and we were left behind in very good hands.  Aunt Julie came to stay with us for most of the days and then Aunt Stacey, Aunt Raegann and Gammee Linda made sure that we made it to everywhere we were supposed to be for the rest of the time.  A huge shout out to these three wonderful Aunts and very special Gammee for allowing Mom and Dad to both get away on this trip.  It was easier for Mom and Dad to know that sis and I were in such good hands.  Love you all.

On the flight out Mom spent some time searching the Nevada desert for bodies.  Fortunately, none were seen. The mafia must be getting better at covering them up.

After Mom and Dad both arrived in Las Vegas they rented a car and headed to Boulder City, NV to check out Hoover Dam.  They ate lunch at a small local diner in town and then checked out the dam.  It's pretty amazing.

Below is one of the statues that make up the a memorial for the men who died in the building of the dam.

This was the sports book inside the hotel where Mom and Dad stayed at.  It was kind of Dad's home away from home during the trip.  Mom said it was the largest "man cave" she had ever seen.  Walk in at anytime and just see rows and rows of men sitting in recliners, cold beer in one hand, the hopeful winning ticket in the other, eyes glued to the some 60 t.v.s. Dad did really good at the bets he placed at the sports book and won some $, only to be given back my Mom.

R
Racing racing everywhere.  At the tradeshow Mom's company was hosting there was a Nascar simulator.  Inside the car in the below picture is Mom's co-worker Bunny...as you tell by the hand over the mouth...her laps around the track didn't go so well.  Mom didn't do that great in the simulator, but had a good time. It felt like you were in a nascar race.  Pretty cool.

Low and behold...look what Mom also found on the trade show floor.  The Honda engines booth had brought a quarter midget to show off and one of the guys in the booth was very involved with the QMA and had been for years.

And can you guess what this is?

The world's largest chocolate fountain...of course.

Las Vegas lights.

Mom and Dad did their best impersonation of Oceans Eleven while watching the Bellagio fountains.

More Las Vegas sights.

Ceiling decor.

While Mom worked, Dad did go exploring one day and caught in a few of the must-see sights in Las Vegas, including the famous Vegas sign in the first picture.  Then he also made a stop at the Pawn Stars shop in Las Vegas.  They have a hit t.v. show on the History Channel, which Mom and Dad enjoy watching.  Dad didn't get to go inside, because as you can see, there is quite a long line to get in.  All the money they're making on that show and the building is kind of a hole-in-the wall place.

Mom and Dad had a great time while out in Vegas, but they were both very glad to come home and to see us kiddos.  That was really the first time they had ever left Reesing for any length of time.  I'm not sure who went through worse withdrawls...Dad or Reesing.  But while Mom and Dad were away, Aunt Julie, Aunt Stacey, Aunt Raegann and Gammee Linda made sure we were well taken care of.  Thank you to you all! We love you.  We had fun and each of you helped the time away from our parents to fly by fast.  We slept good each night knowing we were in good hands!
