This week at school Reesing & I both have both spent lots of time this week reading Dr. Suess books & watching Dr. Suess movies in honor of the great author's birthday. It's a fun week that we've both really enjoyed. We each brought home our own red & white striped hat. Kawlins is modeling the hat I made & she's really living it.

Kawlins is 4 months old
She's growing fast & is such a happy baby. Mom's nickname for her is "smiles" because Kawlins likes to smile. She loves getting any attention, but smiles really big when either Dad or I look at her. Already she loves flirtIng with the boys. She's pretty close to sitting up all by herself. We fed her cereal for the first time this weekend. It was a rough start, but by the second time she was doing all she could to guide that spoon to her mouth. Needless to say, it was a very messy success!

Snowman fun
We really enjoyed getting outside and playing in the snow today. Kawlins celebrated the snow day by sleeping, but the rest of us tackled lots of shoveling, making snow angels & building a snowman. We are thankful for the snow days that allowed us to be home together for some extra time together, but we're really hoping that this might be the last of it. Spring? Are you there? We're waiting on you!

Another snow day...bring it on
School has already been cancelled for tomorrow. We just dug ourselves out of a foot of snow from last week & another Blizzard of Oz is on it's way. No school tomorrow. Yay!

Happy Kansas Day!
Today is Kansas' birthday. The 'ol beauty is turning 152 years old today. She wears that age well. What a better way to celebrate Kansas Day than a fireside hoe-down with friends? None really. Reesing and her classmates celebrated the day by eating hot dogs by the campfire while singing songs and dancing. A good time was had by all. Happy Birthday Kansas!

I can see clearly the rain is gone
There might not have been any rain, but it's safe to say that our baby Kawlins can see clearly now at nine weeks. On Sunday she was really restless and just seemed anxious. By Monday she was smiles all day long. She couldn't stop exploring everything with her eyes and smiling all the time. All it takes to get a smile out of her is to let her know she's got your attention and it's ear to ear grins. She's having a lot of fun checking everything out and it's fun to see her smile.

Ready to rock 2013
2012 was filled with many great things, and 2013 is off to a great start so we can't wait to see what wonderful things the rest of this year has in store for us. Wishing everyone a healthy and happy new year.
Kawlins turned 8 weeks yesterday. She's a good baby and likes to sleep a lot. Kawlins is somewhat of a chameleon, looking like a mini-me version of Reesing and then other days she looks like a girl version of myself when I was that age. She's a good combo of us both, I guess. Milk is her favorite, maybe that's because that's all she gets, but she devours every last drop every time she eats like it's the best meal ever and then usually falls into a deep food coma afterwards. Reesing and I both REALLY love her and she tolerates us in her face all of the time. Overall, she makes a wonderful addition to Team Manning. It's been a fun-filled 8 weeks so far!
