I'll see your tooth and raise you one!

The theme for this week has been teeth. Earlier this week I lost my second tooth and got a visit from the tooth fairy. All day yesterday Kawlins was pretty restless and fussy. And just last night Mom discovered that Kawlins had a tooth had popped through the bottom gum. Yay...glad to know why she has been so restless, but last night was a night of NO sleep for Mom, Dad and Kawlins. So, the same exact week as the oldest sibling lost one of their baby teeth the baby welcomed her 1st tooth to the wonderful world of chewing! Congrats to both me and Kawlins! And Reesing continues to ask each and every night if Mom and check all of her loose teeth. She told Mom, "she's ready to start earning some money!"

Camp out in the living room...

And this is what we wake up to. It's a good thing she's young & bendy. She could still function the next morning after sleeping like this for hours. She was sound asleep & couldn't look more uncomfortable.

Going Bonkers

This summer we've made several trips to Going Bonkers. There are so many fun things to do at Going Bonkers. Reesing and I had been very patient and decided to save up our tickets all summer long. It definitely paid off, in addition to a hard run at the games by Dad with the last $10, to score enough tickets for both Reesing and I to each get a top row  prize! Woo Hoo! I had waited all summer long for this snake and Reesing really wanted her "dotty." So, everyone was happy by the time we left and we learned a valuable lesson about patience. Win-win for everyone.

Happy Friday everyone!

Another one bites the dust

Baby tooth #2 for Manning has left it's nice comfy home in my mouth. I spoiled it's last days with popsicles, apple juice & and lots of other goodies. A carrot was the last thing that tooth got to enjoy. It's been nice knowing you & you've been good to me, but the adult tooth that was already 1/2 way out underneath it decided it was time for you to go. Now I'm patiently waiting for my payout from the tooth fairy.

Kawlins is 8 months already

Where to begin? We have been busy busy busy this summer. A lot of fun has been had, but we just haven't had a lot of time to keep the blog updated. We'll get everyone up to date on all the fun we've been having.

First things first... Kawlins is 8 months now. Wow, where did time go? She's sitting up on her own & her favorite thing to do is stand up. She can't stand up on her own yet, but if she's got something to hold onto...it's on. Everytime she stands she loves to bounce around and stomp her feet. She loves dancing to music & weird as it is, she loves Eminem. If she hears one of his songs she gets excited. She also loves her daddy, smiling so big every time he walks into the room or glances her way her cheeks are so big they force her eyes closed & she becomes Chinese Kawlins. She loves to eat & we think she's going to be longer than Reesing. She's already wearing 9-12 month sizes. She really admires me, Manning, and we're kind of one in the same, but she's got a little twist of Reesing in her. She loves music, clapping, a good sip of soda & long naps.

Summer beach bash

Summer is here and we started off the swimming season last night with the Beach Bash sponsored by the city of Lawrence. The night was complete with with hula dancers and a drum crew. Fun was had by all.

The kids got the chance to design their own beach balls.

Kawlins loved it.

Kawlins was captivated by the drummers.

Thanks for always challenging us to be the best that we can be. Thanks for always talking to us like an individual and not just a silly kid. Thanks for always being a good listener. Thanks for being such a great dad. Love you!

Exhausting

It is exhausting trying to keep up with Reesing every day. Even she can't keep up. This is Reesing sleeping while she waits for me to come out of school. This girl can sleep anywhere.

Just can't quite get comfortable while we wait.

We actually encourage her cat naps when she can sneak them in because if she doesn't, this is what you get.

Just remember we love you Reesing.

A fort to be proud of

Our dad builds the best forts..hands down! He uses every piece of living room furniture to create these mega forts. They are always equipped with lights, tv, dvd, & air conditioning. He'll usually put it up on a Friday and we camp out in it all weekend.  Just reason # 1,000,000 why we have the best dad in the world.
