We took Kawlins on her first trip to the zoo a few weeks ago. It was a beautiful spring day & the animals were out & about & ready for visitors. The highlight of the day was feeding the giraffe lettuce. They sure do have slimy tongues!

Where to begin...
We have been busy! Lots of fun has been occurring & it's been to hard to keep the blog updated. First of all, we celebrated Dad's birthday this past Saturday. We started out the morning with presents & cake & ice cream for breakfast. We finished the day with dinner as a family & topped off the weekend with a birthday dinner with Gammee Linda. Dad's birthday present request for Reesing & I? For us two to not fight at all that day. Do you think that happened?! Of course not. That would just stop the gray hairs from growing on Mom & Dad! Happy Belated Birthday Dad! We love you! You are the best Dad ever!

It's Wednesday
We are halfway through the week, ready for spring & tired of this cold weather. Please sun, wherever you are hiding...we would love to see you again sometime soon. We have our first "no girls allowed" sign posted in the house. The only problem is that a girl occupies every room in the house, but we let him claim stake of Kawlins room during the day & then he agreed to take the sign down at night so that Kaw Kaw can sleep in her bed. I love the question mark/exclamation mark. I'm Ron Burgandy?

While we're on the subject of teeth...
Reesing had her 1st dentist appointment last week. I had my 6 month teeth cleaning at the same time so it was the invasion of the Urish's! Reesing did a great job and we both got a perfect report on our teeth. Yay for no cavities!

Manning - The 1st tooth out
Whew...we've been sweating that one out for a couple weeks now. The tooth had started to wiggle awhile back and I've been taking every precaution to make sure that it did not fall out. Even though Mom and Dad repeatedly told me that it was going to happen no matter what, I was still a little uneasy about looking funny. Well, yesterday at lunch the tooth popped right out onto the lunch table and my friend, Teigan, helped me find it. I still can't get over how small it was. After recovering the tooth I took a short trip to the nurse's office & was eventually sent back to the lunchroom with my tooth safe in an envelope. No pain, a story for all my friends to talk about for the rest of the day, a sticker from my teacher & visit from the tooth fairy leaving me with a payment of $1.41 for my tooth. Not a bad day for a Tuesday.

A cold & rainy St. Pat's Day
A couple weekends ago we had a fun filled St.Pat's weekend. We spent some time with family on Saturday celebrating a special birthday & watching the Jayhawks beat that other Kansas team to win the Big 12 tournament & then got in on some St. Pat's parade action.
Kawlins even knows how to cheer on the Hawks in her sleep! Throwing up the "3!"

Reesing & I got to be in the parade with Rainbow International, courtesy of Aunt Raegann, Uncle Nick & family
One of our lucky charms!
Sharing lots of St. Patrick's Day love.
Kawlins had the best seat in the house for the parade. A warm see with a prime people/parade watching view. She was anxiously awaiting Rainbow International's parade debut!
I guess it was a little too much action/excitement for Kawlins because this was her by the end of the parade. It was a long one.
