Road Trip Part I

A couple of weekends ago dad, mom and myself took on a weekend road trip. First we headed up to Omaha and visited the Omaha zoo. It is a really neat zoo and is a lot of fun. I highly recommend a visit.

I nicknamed this monkey "Uncle Mikey" because he had a really cool spike mohawk going down his head.

Dad and I navigating our way through the jungle.

I love the giraffes.Dad and I getting food to feed the fish.

These fish are really hungry...they fight over every bite of food dropped into the water. Some really nice family gave me so their leftover bread to feed the fishes. Dad broke it up for me to give to the fishes and to his surprise I kept the bread for myself and ate it. Mom and dad both had a good laugh at this.

This elephant looked like my dad when he gets mad...both their ears flare out. Ha!This was dad's reaction after that last comment.

We caught mom trying to take a nap...but then we realized that it was actually a monkey. But looks just like my mom when she takes a Sunday afternoon nap.
This gorilla decided to challenge dad to a stare off.

Talk about "monkey love." Ths monkey loved me a lot. It started with a kiss and then...

then he just started licking the glass...and continued licking...

followed by some more licking. It was pretty gross after awhile, but hey, they're monkeys stuck behind glass all day long. They've got to find new ways to entertain themselves.
This is me taunting the lion just inches from it's giant teeth.
Then it was on to my favorite spot...the penguin house.

Penguins are my favorite animal at the zoo.
This is what my mom and dad looked like at the end of the zoo trip.

New game...not fun

If you've never played "500 Q-Tip Pick Up," then take my recommendation and don't. It was a lot of fun showering the Q-tips all over the room, but was not much fun to pick them all up. Sorry mom and dad.

Our draft pick is final!

We're all smiles at Team Manning.

We're happy to announce, a few days prior to the NFL draft, Team Manning has completed their own 2009 draft and have finalized our pick for this upcoming season. Our newest team member, whom I have nicknamed "Big Eyes," will be making their debut to Team Manning around September 28th sometime, so the doctor tells us. We'll see if he's right. Right now he/she is still just a wee little thing and weighs in at a few ounces and only a few inches long, but is still growing and we expect that they will put on some extra pounds between now and gametime. Below is the first (sorry for the tiny fuzzy image)picture of "Big Eyes" that was recently released to the public. Next month, we'll have another picture and will know whether we're welcoming a boy or a girl teammate. Either way, we are so excited for our new teammate to join us in September. I'm so excited to have a teammate to help me make mom and dad crazy! It'll be double trouble now. We'll keep you updated as the stats roll in.

KU spring game...here we come!

Last Saturday I went to the KU spring football game with my mom, dad, Grandma Linda and cousin Macray.
The boys patiently waiting to head to "the hill" for game time fun.
My dad ended up carrying me half-way because I was slowing the process down.

Dillons supplied free hotdogs and soda/water. Thanks for the meal Dillons!
I don't know why people always eat their hotdogs with this silly bun. It's just as easy without one.

I met a really big white dog who came out for the event. Don't remember his name, just remember him being a really big dog.

Then we got in line to receive a free bike helmet. They had a whole area set up for kids only with huge moonwalks, games, etc. It was a lot of fun.
The nice firefighter helped size my noggin for the right size helmet.
New bike helmet.

Also at the event was the Lawrence fire engine and ambulance. We spent some time checking them both out. It was really neat.
Sitting in the big fire engine. Ready to go put out some fires! Let's go!
Lots of buttons to push. I could have really had some fun with all of these buttons if only I would've had more time.

Macray and I checking out the fire hoses.
Macray causing chaos by ringing the bell. Don't do it Macray!
The #1 volunteer firefighter riding on the #1 fire engine.

Grams and I hanging out on the front of the fire engine.
Finally...ready to watch some football!!!
It was a beautiful day and our Hawks looked great, as usual. I think it's going to be another great season.

Easter 2009

My first time coloring Easter eggs was a lot of fun.

Of course, in this household we can turn eggs into race cars.

Aunt Julie came over to help me color eggs. As you can see from the photos the rest of the family rocked out to some Rock Band on the Wii in the back ground. They supplied the festive background music.

Mom celebrating on Easter eve with her bunny ears.

Thanks for helping Aunt Julie! My eggs turned out just awesome!
Look at all my eggs!
Easter morning I checked out the goodies that the Easter Bunny left me. I must have been good this year because I got a Lightning McQueen chair, as seen in the below picture along with some other goods. Thanks Easter Bunny! I'm already looking forward to your visit next year.
I was really fast on the Easter egg hunt. Mom had a hard time capturing any photos because I was running around so fast. I got lots of good practice in with the eggs that the Easter Bunny left at my house. I had to practice up because later in the day I had an Easter egg hunt that Grandma Linda sponsored. It was a combined event along with celebrating cousin Mile's 2nd birthday and cousin Annabell's 1st birthday. It was a long day filled with nothing but sugar highs and fun!
